PAK Detection Kit
GloboZymes PAK Detection Kit includes a 200 μg aliquot of affinity-purified Anti-PAK and a sample of highly purified PAK1 . The PAK1 aliquot is provided in SDS sample buffer ready for use in five applications as positive control in Western blots.
The antibody was produced in rabbits to a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 484-502 of human PAK1. The polyclonal antibody is useful for Western blotting. For example, it is used at 1:1000 dilution with 30 μg HEK293 cell extracts . In addition to PAK1, the antibody displays reactivity with PAK2.

Background: The p21-GTPase-activated protein kinases (PAK’s) are a family of enzymes that regulate numerous processes. These processes include cell morphology and cytoskeleton organization, cell motility, apoptosis, neuronal functions, cell cycle progression, viral replication and other processes. PAK’s interact with several important regulatory proteins including protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), ribosomal protein S6 kinase, Mixed Lineage Kinase (MLK2), and the SH3-SH2 adapter Nck. Physiological targets of PAK include p38 MAP kinase, JNK, cRaf-1 and Synapsin I. The catalytic domain of PAK is produced in apoptotic cells via a caspase-dependent pathway. Unlike the native enzymes, the catalytic domain does not require Rac or Cdc42 to undergo autophosphorylation and activation.
