Background
Akt [also known as PKB (Protein kinase B) is a family of serine/threonine kinases that plays an important role in signal transduction.There are three known isoforms of Akt in mammalian cells [Akt1 (a), Akt2 (ß) and Akt3 (?)]; Akt is activated by insulin and growth and survival factors. Akt1 is phosphorylated within the activation loop at threonine 308 and the C-terminus at serine 473 (S473). Additionally, Akt has been referred to as an oncogene because it has increased activity in a number of tumors.
PURIFICATION The Rabbit IgG is purified by Epitope Affinity Purification | SPECIFICITY This antibody onlyrecognizes ~60 kDa of human AKT2, not AKT1 or AKT3.It also reacts with mouse and rat AKT2 protein. The other species are not tested. |
FORMULATION This affinity purified antibody is supplied in sterile Phosphate buffered saline (pH7.2) containing antibody stabilizer. | STORAGE The antibodies are stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored at –20oC.
