Very high quality Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is used in the manufacture of GenDEPOT"s Charcoal / Dextran Treated FBS (CDFBS). Using a proprietary method GenDEPOT processes FBS through a series of CD treatments to reduce the levels of many hormones, growth factors and steroid levels. This product is available for those scientists requiring lower levels of these components in their studies to include receptor or estrogen related investigation. We measure various hormones and steroids pre and post treatment to ensure our process provides consistent and repeatable results.

Product is stable for 5 years from the date of manufacture if kept at frozen temperature. GenDEPOT recommends the product not undergo multiple freeze-thaw cycles, aliquots should be made. Turbidity or flocculent material may be observed upon thawing or prolonged storage at refrigerated temperatures. This is normal in most serum products and not detrimental to its performance.
