T1/ST2(alsoknownasIL-1R4orIL-33Ra)isatransmembraneglycoproteinexpressedonmastcellsandTh2cells.ItisaselectiveMarkerforbothmurineandhumanTh2lymphocytesandplaysaroleinregulatinginflammatoryresponses.IL-33isarecentlyidentifiedmemberoftheIL-1familyofcytokinesandisinvolvedinTh2mediatedimmuneresponses.IL-33mediatesitsBIOLOGicaleffectsviaT1/ST2binding.TherolesofIL-33andT1/ST2(IL-33Ra)havebeeninvestigatedinmanyimmuneresponsessuchasallergy,asthma,rheumatoidarthritisandosteoarthritis.
