IthasbeenrecentlybeenshownthattheClickchemistrycanbeusedtoimmobilizevarious(bio)moleculeschemoselectivelyandinexcellentyields(J.Am.Chem.Soc.127,8600,2005),andthatitcanbecoupledwithelectRochemistrytoallowforsite-selectiveimmobilization(J.Am.Chem.Soc.128,1794-1795,2006andalsoScience,Editor"sChoice,10February,2006).Inthelattercase,applicationofvoltagebiastoagoldmicroelectrodesupportingazide-terminatedSAMchangedtheredoxstateofanauxiliarycoppercatalyst,andthusactivatedtheSAMforthe"click"chemistry.Byactivatingdifferentmicroelectrodesatdifferenttimes,itwaspossIBLetoimmobilizevariousmoleculesontothem.ThecapABIlityofsuchsequentialimmobilizationshouldproveextremelyusefulinthedevelopmentofelectrochemicalmicrosensorarrays.
