Affinity purified rabbit polyclonal anti-MBP antibody is developed with full length bovine myelin basic protein as the immunogen and affinity purified with an immuno-dominant MBP peptide. The peptide sequence is identical for most of the isoforms of mammalian myelin basic proteins. The purified antibody is conjugated to peroxidase (HRP) through reductive amination. The conjugates are tested for applications in sandwich ELISA detection of MBP in the plasma with an unoptimized sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, western-blot analysis and immunohistochemistry.
