These primer sets allow subtyping of avian influenza virus strains by RT-qPCR (real-time reverse-transcription PCR). There are two primer sets available. The primers included in Cat. # 6640 are based on the nucleotide sequence of the avian influenza virus HA (hemagglutinin) gene, whereas primers included in Cat. # 6641 are based on the nucleotide sequence of the NA (neuraminidase) gene*. Using either product with PrimeScript RT Reagent Kit (Perfect Real Time) (Cat. # RR037A) and TB Green Premix Ex Taq (Tli RNaseH Plus) (Cat. # RR420A) allows analytical determination for HA or NA subtypes of avian influenza virus by RT-qPCR**.
