BackgroundIdentificationofCD15thatrecognizesahumanmylelomonocyticantigen.ThestructurerecognizedbyCD15antibodiesislacto-N-fucopentoseIII.1.TheCD15antigenispresentongreaterthan95%ofmatureperipheralbloodeosinophilsandneutrophils.Itispresentatlowdensityoncirculatingmonocytes.InlymphoidtissueCD15reactswithReed-SternbergcellsofHodgkinsdiseaseandwithgranulocytes.However,CD15reactswithonlyafewtissuemacrophagesanddoesnotreactwithdendriticcells.
