Ent-DMPC/Ent-2,3-Dimyristoyl-sn-Glycero-1-Phosphocholine is an enantiomer of the phospholipid DMPC/2,3-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine.

Enantiomers are pairs of mirror images to one another, non-superimposable stereoisomers. They are also called optical antipodes or isomers, or just antipodes. They have the same connectivity, but opposite three-dimensional orientations, so they rotate plane-polarized light (+/−) by equal amounts but in opposite directions.

DMPC is a phospholipid that contains 14:0 fatty acids at sn-2 and sn-3 positions. It also belongs to the group of phosphatidylcholines (PC). They are components of eukaryotic cell membranes that contain choline as a head group.

DMPC is actually a synthetic phospholipid used widely to analyze the lipid bilayer of biological organelle and cell membranes.

DMPC has been found to aid the adhesion and transport of nanoparticles through bio-membranes in models of rat brains.
