Cellmaxin is a new antibiotic formulation specially
designed to protect cell culture system from
mycoplasmacontamination. Cellmaxin is a unique
anti-mycoplasmareagent that contains a unique
combination of macrolideand quinolone.Unlike
other anti-mycoplasma reagent thatrequires the
sequential and cyclic use of twoantibiotics.
Cellmaxin is ready-to-use and can be added to cell
culture medium directly.Furthermore, two components
in Cellmaxin act onseparatetargets blocking protein
synthesis and DNA replication.Therefore, Cellmaxin
is more effective in eliminatingmycoplasma and
preventthe appearance of resistant strains.
The quinolone in Cellmaxin can enter cells easily and
therefore are active on both intracellular pathogens as
wellas free mycoplasma. For many Gram+ bacteria,
the targetof Cellmaxin is top -oisomerase IV which
eukaryotic cellsdo not contain.Therefore Cellmaxin is
less toxic than other anti-mycoplasmareagents.
